Eastern Scholar House

Eastern Scholar House

Eastern Scholar House is a program that increases student self-sufficiency and combats poverty by removing some of the barriers to affordable housing and childcare costs. This residential program promotes self-sufficiency and economic stability for program participants and connections to supports such as academic tutoring, financial literacy, employment assistance, and access to community-based services. This is not a student-housing program. This program is open to eligible single parents in an approved post-secondary institution (including technical colleges and online programs). This project consists of three apartment buildings located at 801 Van Hoose Drive in Richmond. There are 39 housing units, consisting of two-bedroom apartments, of which two are fully-handicap accessible living quarters. Apartment amenities include a washer/dryer, dishwasher, storage space, and a designated parking lot. Housing is income based. Winterwood, Inc. provides property management and ensures the program’s compliance with funding regulation. For more information or to apply call 859-408-7025 or email Jackie Dean at jdean@foothillscap.org.
